It was lovely to sing again at St Mary's Church Stowting. The little church was packed to bursting and the refreshments were delicious! We sang a varied programme of Puccini, Wesley and Haydn in the first half and a mix of traditional and popular peices in the second half including the delightful 'And all the Bells shall ring' a Christmas medley arranged by Adrian Bawtree. Extracts from Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' were read out by choir members. Our season came to a lovely festive end with drinks and more singing at the Tiger Inn, Stowting.
We were given a very warm welcome from Littlebourne church where we performed to a large enthusiastic audience. We had a varied programme which included a beautiful Christmas medley which had been arranged by Adrian Bawtree. Proceeds from the concert went to the church's maintenance fund.
The concert was a tremendous success and the atmosphere really buzzing. It was lovely to meet old friends from Dagenham again. Both choirs sang their hearts out and we especially look forward to a reciprocal concert next year.
There were at least 14 stalwarts who came to join in the fun and share great food (thanks to all for the scrumptuous fare). The weather could have been better but at least it didn't rain and we had plenty of laughs with the croquet and boules!
A fun filled evening with a mixed selection of old and new songs. The audience didn't need any encouragement to join in and the evening ended with a rousing rendition of Jerusalem, Rule Briannia and Land of Hope and Glory. Grateful thanks to Michael Foad who conducted us with great enthusiasm and panache!
32 choir members and friends came together at Etchinghill Village Hall for much fun and laughter at our Quiz Night. Congratulations to the Winners The Magnigicent 7 with 52 points! £120 was raised so thanks to all and special thank you to Maddy and John for organising the event and for John's brain teasing questions!
